FMP 006: House Finished

The majority of the house and the exterior forest area is now finished, all my assets are in engine. I’ve also finalised the lighting for outside to a degree that I am happy with. As usual, everything I have made will hopefully be polished in the last few weeks of the project.
The start of the week was spent importing the assets and organising files. The organising of files seems to be something that come up quite often as there are many files that needed to be imported. Each asset I make consists of the mesh file and several texture sheets, all needing to be set up as materials in engine.
With regards to lighting, this is still one aspect of the project I can’t seem to get right. As it currently stands there are only two lights in the scene, a directional light (its main purpose to create shadows) and a sky light (this light makes sure the shadows aren’t completely black.
As I mentioned I was having some problems with nothing getting the lighting conditions I want, what I resulting in doing was ‘fix’ this problem by faking the lighting how I wanted using the post process volume. By simply messing around with the settings I believe I’ve made the lighting conditions in the engine file more realistic and closer to what I envisioned it to look like.
With the house finished and the majority of the exterior props completed I will move on to the interior (living room) next week. Depending on how long the next stage takes I will be going back to the forest area every now and again to tweak lighting and asset placement. Again, if there is time left over I will begin the stench goals of creating points of interest in the distance, for example a farm house, fire watch tower, etc.
