This marks the start of the living room props. I have given myself 4 weeks to produce as many high quality living room assets as I can.
As always, the first move is to make an asset list to follow. The first things you think of when talking about a living room have been put as a priority on my list, a sofa, coffee table, even a book shelf. Altogether there are about 30 assets on the list I will need to model and texture in 4 weeks.
By adopting the workflow of modelling both a high and low poly model, baking down and texturing, my asset production is much slower than I would want it to be. This being said, the quality of assets are obviously much higher when baking from a higher poly model.
To start of this section of the project I modelled several pieces of furniture (see below).

Thankfully there assets are quite blocky so the modelling stage didn’t take up that much time. For the sofa I imported a high poly model from max into zbrush to sculpt the remaining details. The other assets I used a custom normal scripts in max to give the impression of a high poly bake.
The next couple of weeks will be relatively straight forward. Right now my job is to come up with as many assets as I can. After the four weeks are up I will import the assets in engine and work on interior lighting. This is planned for FMP week 11.
